Mental Health Advantages for Effective Leadership
Strong leadership starts with understanding people.
Leading effectively takes more than technical knowledge. It requires the ability to recognize stress, respond to difficult situations and create the conditions where people can do their best work.
Mental Health Advantages for Effective Leadership explores the connection between mental health and effective leadership. It is designed to help leaders—and people who influence others without a formal title—think more intentionally about their impact on workplace well-being, trust and performance.
This course will help you strengthen your understanding of:
- How mental health can affect people at work
- Why a leader’s response matters
- The connection between mental health, communication and performance
- How greater awareness can support healthier workplace relationships
- Why supporting others also requires attention to your own well-being
The goal is practical, human leadership: noticing sooner, responding more thoughtfully and helping create a workplace where people feel supported, valued and able to contribute.
Is this course for you?
This course may be a good fit if you:
- Lead, supervise or support other people
- Influence workplace culture, with or without a leadership title
- Want to feel better prepared for the human side of work
- Care about building a healthier, more resilient organization

In 3 modules, one self directed and the other two kept to 3-hours in length including breaks. It was a safe space and I felt comfortable. Sherry, the instructor, was amazing. She was so great at keeping us engaged and had so much knowledge and experience to share. She went above and beyond to make the course a great experience. Can't wait to be able to put my skills into practice!

I thought the course content was relevant to the current social climate surrounding Mental Health. Addressing the stigma surrounding mental health and teaching people how to approach someone who could be in crisis with the ALGEES techniques will raise much needed awareness with this formal training. I think every employer and employee should take this training!

This course was by far the BEST course I have ever taken. The instructor was amazing and engaged our team. The day went by so quickly and I never felt bored or unengaged. Dan is an amazing instructor, he is well organized and knows a lot about mental health. He approaches teaching in a way that is exciting and makes you understand what your role is to help staff and others.
